The Benefits of a Master-Planned Community
People are always asking me to tell them why master-planned communities are such a great option for home buyers. As someone who has been in the business of working in master-planned neighborhoods for nearly 20 years I can give you a pretty good idea about why I recommend them so often.
1) Variety
Master-planned communities usually have a variety of home designs and types which also means that there will be a variety of price points, offering something for everyone. Most master-planned communities also offer a mix or residential and commercial property which means you can shop or dine near your home.
2) Everything is Planned
This means that all the roads are planned in advance for good traffic flow. There are street lights, there is a storm water drainage plan, and there has been a great deal of thought put forth in bringing the community to life. Having everything in your community planned in advance will also let you see the future plans for your community as it grows.
3) Amenities
Nearly every master-planned neighborhood I have been to has an amenities center of some sort. Amenities are a great way for you to meet your neighbors and make new friends. Whether it be on a golf course or a simple walking or biking trail, amenities help people stay active and they encourage interaction with other residents.
4) Natural Surroundings
A major part of a master-planned community is green space. During a poll by the National Board of Realtors a few years ago the number one thing people desired in a neighborhood was walking trails and parks. When you purchase in a master-planned community these wishes are taken into account at the begin of the planning. Green space is key to any master-planned community.
5) A Real Sense of Community
Master-planned communities are designed to get people connected whether it be through it's amenities, its walking trails or even the way they have designed their mailbox system. The intention is to create a true community feel. This is why I recommend these neighborhoods to so many of my clients retiring from another city or state. Master planned communities will enable you to quickly meet people and make new friends.
