Looking for something fun to do this fall? Take a trip down to Historic Downtown Wilmington for the Annual Riverfest celebration. This is a great way to see what Wilmington has to offer. If you are not local to our amazing historic city there are a few things you should know before visiting.
People are friendly. If someone waves to you, wave back.If they say good morning, smile and say hello.
We like to eat. We are proud of our grits, sweet tea and Barbecue. Also, Barbecue here means pork not a weekend cookout.
We love music. Our city has many concert venues and cultural arts centers where you can see everyone from Tony Bennett to UB40. Just because we are historic doesn’t mean we are not hip.
We are pedestrian friendly. We have miles of walking paths, hiking trails, as well as biking areas. Get outside and enjoy our southern climate and take part in our festivals. Pretend you are a local. You are going to love this place.
Want to make this a more permanent relationship? Give me a shout and I can introduce you to some of the best places to live around the Port City.
The celebration will be located on Water Street from the foot of Market Street to Cape Fear Community College. Currently and drawing nearly a quarter-million people, this free, family-oriented celebration is a two-day event and has grown to be a widely anticipated annual celebration. On the schedule for this year is live music, arts, performances from various performing arts groups, and too many food and retail vendors to count. Saturday there will even be a fireworks show that promises not to disappoint. Stop by and enjoy the fun October 7th & 8th.
